Coz my 360 got bust in 3 months, and after it's repaired I'm gonna sell it....Anyway, MGS is a game which I always wanted to play. However, there's several versions of the game, should I go for the original PS1/PC version, or should I get the Gamecube remake (which may be difficult for me to find) ?Yeh, so apart from the visuals, what are the differences between each versions of the game? So, I'm 'back' into last-gen to play som ...
i'd go for twin snakes on gamecube, ive played through both versions many times, and ill say the graphical upgrade is nice, that and the added ability to shoot in first person, like in metal gear 2.So, I'm 'back' into last-gen to play som ...

But damn, Twin snakes is bloody rare and expensive now! the best price I saw on ebay was ?0 :(
I've just bought the original PS1 version of metal gear solid for ? at a car boot sale. I was playing MGS4 and realised that my favourite part of the game was the flashback level.
Twin Snakes has got a graphical update, but has butchered the gameplay in other aspects. Some of the boss fights have significantly reduced difficulty. If you're looking for definitive version of Metal Gear Solid, get the one on the PSX. The PC version, ie, Metal Gear Solid Integral is much more harder on the keyboard (and the difficulty spikes up at Psycho Mantis so beware). Its hard but very much do-able. I finished the PC version on Extreme but it was very tough when fighting Psycho Mantis as you can't change controllers like in the console counterparts.

I'd go with the Gamecube version. Better graphic, better voice acting and far more accessible. The only thing the PS1 version has over the Gamecube version is that the Ocelot boss fight is better. The Gamecube version kinda ruined it with the ability to go into first person view.
Twin Snakes is pretty awesome, but MGS1 is still the ''original'' game... plus TTS costs ridiculous amounts of money now, whereas you can get MGS1 in the MGS Essential Collection for pretty cheap.
Just go with the MGS essential Collection which comes with all three for ps2 for 25 bucks

I'd buy that bargain, but too bad it's exclusive to US.
Seems like I'll just go for the PSX version. I'm only looking to play through the game once, for the story and to see how good it was. Thanks all
