Well, basically I'm in the market for an NES, and my SNES seems to finally be showing some wear, so that too will need a replacement.Instead of spending $50 for each system individually, or more depending on quality, I came across this Retro Duo Twin Video Game system which can apparently play NES, SNES, and even Famicom games all in one system. They're also compatible with any SNES controllers I guess, so that's nice. What I want to know, if anyone owns one, is whether or not the quality is good? The hardware wasn't faulty or anything? (They're made in China, so I am a little skeptical). Also did you have any compatibility issues? From what i know Super Mario RPG shouldn't work due to something inside the game cartridge (shame as I own that game and it's my favorite game of all time, but I'll live), but are there any others worth mentioning? Is it worth buying if you want an NES and SNES?Retro Duo System (Anyone use one?)
I own one, and am happy with is so far. The SNES side of it seems to be perfect, all of my games have worked on it, including SMRPG. Music and everything sounds perfect. On the NES side though, some games seem to have tinny sound, a game that comes to mind is Tecmo Super Bowl. It's really not all that bad though, and overall I would recommend buying one. When I got one last year, they were supposedly making an adaptor that let you plug in NES accessories, I don't know if they made that yet, but it would be a definite plus.Retro Duo System (Anyone use one?)
it is a great system but i am looking for a light gun that works on it but no luck as of yet. I repair all cartridge systems and games. only thing you have to worry about is the battery goes bad and needs to be replaced. but it is very easy to replace the battery so don't throw away that game that can't save
I bought one. I watched a few youtube videos of people with it, read some reviews, and basically everything was positive, so I figured it isn't a bad investment. Got some good games coming with it too :D I can't wait. It's gonna be my favorite system.
You could've gotten an FC3 Plus system made by Yobo which plays NES, SNES and Genesis. The FC3 Plus plays SMRPG.

I do have a pretty awesome library of SNES games, and NES games that I would rather build on as opposed to starting a Genesis library. You also can't use SNES controllers for it which is a turn off :( The extra cost of the system would not be worth it for me.It's also got a few compatibility issues unlike the Retro Duo, as well I don't know if it plays PAL or Super Famicom games as well.
