my birthday is coming up near the end of april an i wondering what to ask my mum to get memany people dislike persona 4 which put me off it so i want to know your opinioni was currently thinking to get P3 fes edition for birthday and get other later in yearwhich is better?persona 3 or persona 4 for gift
I don't know where you got the assumption that most people dislike Persona 4. It's probably more true that people liked Persona 4 even better than Persona 3, me included. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either one. Persona 4 is a tad better though. I liked everything about it, and I thought it improved on Persona 3 in almost everyway. The real answer is just to get both though.persona 3 or persona 4 for gift
I prefer the third one myself. I didn't get that far in the fourth and it's mostly because I lost interest in it.
Both are great games, but Persona 4 imo takes everything that was good about P3 and improves upon it. It's probably my favourite game this year so far (just came out in Europe) and I just can't stop playing it.
I have like 40-50+ hours on P3Fez(havent beat) and I just started P4. P4 has a much cooler storyline and way better controls. You get to control EVERYONE's actions, whereas in P3 your team mates do stupid stuff sometimes or just fail to take advantage of things. I would definately go with P4.
The only bad things I have noticed so far of playing P4(one day IRL not in-game hehehe) is that the new 3d dungeons with 3d person perspective are ugly, I'd much prefer the overhead view from P3. Crap what else......lost my train of thought.....OH!!! The shuffle mini-game is kinda totally screwed up. Its alot more difficult to grab the cards you want from shuffle time. Now instead of playing various version of 3 card monty where you just follow the card you want as they are being shuffled and then try to choose the right one which was super easy because they had patterns, in P4 it has been turned into a timing game. First all the cards fly into various ring shapes and begin spinning around and when the card you want is in the center of the screen you have to hit the button to make it stop, the cards move fast and the timing is hard to get down so it makes it difficult. And then also the kind of cards that show up are different. There are blanks, persona's, and penalty cards. No more healing cards or items cards(atleast I havent seen any yet). Penalty cards can prevent you from getting your fight rewards or even worse permanently harm your persona's stats.
But yeah P4 has the better story and better controls. Just dont expect them to be the totally awesome game everyone hypes it up to be. They are super long grind fests. You level up but never really get any stronger because its your persona's stats that matter and if they dont go up they dont go up. And when they do go up it only makes you slightly stronger.
