i do, any one else?Virtual boy underated?
The big red thing that made your head hurt after a few minutes? No.There were alot better things to waste my time on.Virtual boy underated?
First off this post doesn't really make senseSecond off Virtual Boy sucks
The Virtual Boy was criminally bad. The only console to ever physically punish you for playing it.
ugh that console hurt my eyes really bad.
Judging from what the Angry Videogame Nerd said when he reviewed Virtual Boy, it doesn't seem that it is underrated.
i only tried it once and I dont rememer it being good
The Virtual Boy deserves all the underating it got, it was a horrible concept. Just imagine: a black and red eyesore that had terrible sound, gimmicky 3D visuals and gave you headaches if played longer that 15 mins. at a time and oh yeah, it had legs! You had to play the thing sitting on a desk, hunched over the damn thing . If anything it proved that Nintendo wasn't afraid to innovate, but damn, this thing hurt them badly. I'm talking from first had experience too since I owned one so I know what I'm talking about.
Here is the AVGN video about it : Link

I love the bit about the battery pack that comes off if you touch it, shutting the system down
sry i ment in my first post i think it was... not i do :)i just got one and have had not head aches or any thing of the sort, the red is annoying, but the sound isnt all that terrible.. i go by my original thoughts its not good by any means but i think given some more time and maybe a game or 2 more it may have caught on... or if it could get at least blue or some thing idk just my thoughts.
I think VB is slightly underrated. I remember my brother getting it and of course, I always found some way to play it. Obviously it made my eyes hurt and I could never play it for more than 20 minutes or so, but a lot of the games were fun. I loved the one tennis game where you could play as the Mario characters(Mario's Tennis?). I think VB was just destined to be a failure from the start...had it been developed better I think it would have had some better time selling in North America(and my eyes wouldn't hurt so much ;)).
Nope, it pretty much was a piece of crap.

It failed so badly.
I remember when the Virtual Boy first came out and Electronics Boutique had one on display. I played it a couple times when I went to the store, and it did in fact give me a headache. I wasn't impressed.
It certainly wasn't underrated but I still loved the VB back when I tried it some time in 1995. Call me crazy but I thought the red and black graphics were unique in a cool way, and the 3D effect was spiffy. It was like one of those magic-eye things but in motion.
Trouble is though, the system didn't last very long at all and as a result not very many games were ever released for it which is a bit of a shame as there were some pretty fun looking games in development.
The one thing that really crippled the system however was that there was simply no way to play it longer than 30 minutes and not get a head-ache (or in my case, feel very dizzy).
No, it deserved every one of the bad ratings it received. I bought one at Kay-Bee Toys years ago when they were on clearance. Since I've never been one to play games for just one hour at a time (don't know anyone who does), it made my eyes hurt a bit. It also killed batteries faster than any other portable console I know of. The one upside is that it introduced me to Wario games.
I actually liked the Virtual Boy.

*hugs*
No, you couldn't even hardly manage to find a comfortable way to play it, and it hurt.
I loved my Virtual Boy. I would still play it if someone hadn't stolen it...
