NES Version of Mother/Earthbound 0

In case you don't know, here is the scoop: Nintendo had a fully translated version of the original mother set for North America but decided not to release them. Copies were taken/smuggled/something out of Nintendo of Canada and apparently they are totally legit.Needless to say, I have some questions.1) Does anyone know the true reason of why it was never released.2) Are the cartridges of the games real/work on an NES3) Where could I possibly get one?I do remember seeing one on ebay a while ago but I didn't buy it in the chance that it was fake.NES Version of Mother/Earthbound 0
I'm not sure why it wasn't released in the US it was just one of those Japanese games that never make it over. I've seen completely working home-brew carts of earthbound zero at a local game store, but nothing from nintendo.NES Version of Mother/Earthbound 0
for 1 nintendo was scared at the time because they thought no one would buy cause snes was on its way and rpgs at the time werent doing so good in the usa
It was confirmed by former Nintendo employee Phil Sandhop, that Nintendo chose not to release EarthBound in the U.S. because the Super Nintendo was to be released at the same time originally planned in the country and it thought that insufficient customers would notice a new NES game in favor of the new Super NES console and its games.

Copied and pasted from wikipedia. Just google earthbound and you're on.
