For the worst, I'd say that the colecovision controller was a painful reminder of generations past. After holding the thing with your wrist in that unnatural position so your thumb and index finger could use the side buttons cause many ice pack moments.
ill keep it official, cos 3rd party controllers are so easy to rip into.i love the mk2 saturn controller.and i hate the atari jaguar controller.
Probably for best would be the PS controllers. i'm more an Xbox fanboy, but it's the best layout and easiest. The PS3 controller could use work though.But for worst i'd say the Coleco phone looking controller.
Also that weird vertical controller for CDI that looked like a tv remote.
Best maybe the wavebird and the Logitech action wireless controller for me.Worst for me is probably The Airflow controller for the original Xbox and the Resident evil 4 chainsaw controller.Yeah the Chainsaw controller was cool to look at but was a pain to use.
Can't post pics, but to me I'd say Absolute best - Sega Dreamcast. No contest here. That controller felt so good.

The N64 one is definitely among the worst controllers of all time.Just terrible.

Why? Besides the fact that the left side was pretty obsolete? I thought the way you held it was actually pretty comfortable.

I thought the way you held it was actually pretty comfortable.[/QUOTE]the build quality is pretty bad. other then that, i found the ergonomics of it to be quite comfortable. and i thought the layout with the six face buttons and an ok d-pad made it not bad for the average fighting games the 64 had.

The greatest gaming controllers ever made were simply Snes or NES pads, they were simple, easy, light and comfortable.
The Gamecube controller I would say is second.
Third best controller is debatable.
There have been some horrific controllers as well and one of the worst is the Xbox controller, the first ones were a joke of a size but at least they lasted, the second control models broke damn easily.
I think the best was the super Nintendo's controller. It is comfortable and has a great layout.There are a lot of bad ones for less than famous consoles, but as for a major controller, I'd either have to say the xbox controllers. They have all had bad dpads and are really uncomfortable to hold.
I liked the ps1/2 controller. 360 controller is good too. worst i've used was the n64.

and the best for me would be the PS2 controller
from controllers ive usedBest- Playstation 1/2 analog controller, Slimline Sega Saturn controller , Mega Drive 3 button controlleralmost - PS3 controller (the L2/R2 triggers suck), Gamecube controller, Mega Drive 6 button controller ,SNES controlleraverage - Xbox 360 controller , Master system controller, Dreamcast Controller, Sega Saturn 3D controllernot so good - N64 controller , original Xbox controllerthere may be better and worse but those are the ones I played
