I got a Japanese NTSC Dreamcast and an original PAL copy of DoA 2. I'm using Action Replay CDX for playing imports. The problem I got is that when I run DoA 2 via Action Replay, the game's screen is shifted towards the bottom, leaving the upper third blank, while visual elements at the bottom (such as the fighters' feet) can't be seen anymore. I've tried the DCX boot disc, too, but it's the same issues.Has anyone experienced the same and is there a way to fix this?Help: Running DEAD OR ALIVE 2 (no backup ...
Have you tried the same with other PAL games? And it is recommended when using PAL games on NTSC systems to play them with the VGA adapter. If this is the first PAL game you've tried on, then it is very likely you will need the VGA to play them.
But if anything those boot disks are know to have various issues with some games. Hell the DCX doesn't load a whole lot of original games. The best boot disc is the the Game Shark one.

Backup the game to your hard drive. Use a PAL patcher on the ISO (I don't want to provide links because GameSpot is probably against this for some reason) and burn the disc. Play it.
^ last I knew computers couldn't read DC games. ... was there a development in that area I'm not aware of? I haven't kept up with the DC scene in at least a couple of years now.

[/QUOTE]Other games work fine. But my heart nearly stopped when I had shoved in the PAL version of Soul Calibur and it had the same black box at the top. It was fixed by simply choosing the game's 60 Hz option, though. If DoA 2 had a screen adjustment option I could probably fix it, too :(Do VGA boxes work with standard TVs? I only got Scart input at the back of my dated tube TV.
