star ocean wasn't even released State side. He must have an SFC or something else..
Lufia 1-2
Breath of Fire 1-2
Secret of Evermore
Well of you can play Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia, then you should definitely play Seiken Densetsu 3.
Hers are the only ones I would recommend to others:The 7th Saga
Act Raiser
Arcana
Breath of Fire 1-2
Chrono Trigger
Drakkhen
Earthbound
Final Fantasy 2-3
Legend of Zelda
Lufia 1-2
Ogre Battle
Paladin's Quest
Robotrek
Secret of Mana
Shadowrun
Super Mario RPG
Uncharted Waters: New Horizon (one of the best games ever)
well i seem to be the only one who played harvest moon, let alone super mario RPG.
well i seem to be the only one who played harvest moon, let alone super mario RPG.
Actually, Super Mario RPG was the first RPG I ever played. I still own my copy that I got from Toys R' Us when they were clearing out their stock of SNES games.Love that game.
Theres no way you can classify Harvest Moon as an RPG. Its a Simulation. You dont kill anything, you dont get xp, you dont gain stats. HM:Rune Factory 1-2 counts though =P

Does anybody know anything like Crono Trigger, Star Ocean, and Tales of Phantasia? In other words highly story driven rpgs? And thanks for those of you who already contributed.
Earthbound is a true classic. I suggest it if you can get your hands on a copy.
Earthbound is a true classic. I suggest it if you can get your hands on a copy.
LMAO. Thanx for taking the 2 seconds it would have taken to actually read the guys post before making your suggestion.@p00zer I dont really remember SMRPG's storyline I think Bowser took Peech and mario goes to rescue her, But the game will always get suggested because it had awesome combat for an rpg. Basically the Timed Attack mechanic. You choose your attack and then if you hit the button right as your attack connects you get bonus damage and stuff. Its worth playing. RPG's are 90% combat 10% storyline. If you truly only cared about the storylines im sure you could find websites that just has all the dialogue. You probably play rpg's for the combat too though in which case you better try to get your hands on Super mario rpg.
you see harvest moon is an rpg its a puritan it doesnt need exp, or random battles to prove it, it gives you a role to play in the grand scheme of events surrounding you and says how and what would you do? at various intervals. any game that does that is an rpg plain and simple to suggest different would mean that you take the R out of Rpg the second it doesnt feature a boss battle.

Sure the stories in these games aren't the most epic of all time, but it gets the job done.

Double Dragon(nes), Kung Fu(nes), Mario Kart(snes), Mortal Kombat. Except for those ''games'' where you use an Eyetoy to project yourself onto the tv you always play as somebody else. That doesnt make it role playing.

you might want to get final fantasy 2-3, secret of mana or secret of evermore, and super mario rpg
