Okay me and my friend were just playing video games yesterday, and we got sortoff got into a debate into which game series was better, Legend of Zelda or the Fable series. So he said i should just let the general public of gamespot decide, So we ask you gamers which do you like better? (Or i ask you) Zelda or Fable, there are only 2 rules.1. Consoles SHOULD never appeare into this disscusion only mention story, gameplay and controls as well as music if youd like.2. You can not just put ''Zelda owns fable'' or the other way around you must give a reason with your answer. The end time of this poll will end on April 7th 2009. Defend your fanboyism.P.S im in favor of zelda my friend is in favor of fable.Score At the minuteZelda:29Fable:0Still chance to change it around but not likely ^^Legend of Zelda or Fable, which is bette ...
Fable tried to be a RPG, but considering the limited choices, and that your characters will always turn out to be the same (And the fact that Peter completely overhypes his games), it just fell short.Zelda tried to be an action/adventure game, and just blew everything else out of the water.Legend of Zelda or Fable, which is bette ...
TLOZ kicks Fable's arseReasons aren't even neccesary in this comparison.
honestly fable's been done before, imo i dont think the game is that special. zelda created it's own unique feel for a game. therefore, zelda fable
I can guess just from what you have written who was in favor of what. You were in favor of Fable and your friend is in favor of Zelda. Well your friend is right. Theres no way you can compare Fable which only has 2 games and 1 expansion? to Zelda that has like 10+ games. Once you get to OoT and WW where you have really awesome controls like defend/lock-on/attack thats better than Fable right there.
I liked fable 1 when i rented an xbox and when I got my 360 i was really looking forward to playing Fable 2, In fact I was sad when I got GTA4 instead of Fable 2. But I rented Fable 2 shortly there after and I played a decent ways into it. I own a crapload of buildings and have had a couple of wives, got some cool weapons. However I lost interest near the end and dont even feel like beating it.. I mean atleast with zelda you are constantly getting new weapons and abilities. Fable 2 you just kill stuff and collect orbs and upgrade your abilities (to a limit).
I think zelda has the much better world and dungeons to. Fables world and dungeons are extremely limited and not open at all. The only thing cool in Fable in my opinion is the cool interactions you have with the people. I didnt like the change from how armor worked in Fable 1 to Fable 2 and I also didnt like going from a bow to a gun.
Zelda games are just overall better and there are many more of them.
actaully....i was in favor of zelda my firends just a fanboy...
lol ok my bad. I just thought that the person who suggested letting the forums decide would have the more logical, mature brain and therefore be basing their decision more on the actual facts. I guess your friend just watches to much american idol hehehe.
Zelda FTW!!! I don't think I've ever played a game so addicting and flawless. It defiantly set my standards for games high
I never played fable 2 but I loved the story in the first fable game, problem was the gameplay was kinda simplistic.I still have to give me nod to Zelda. The series has been out longer, and I love the gameplay and story of pretty much all the Zelda games that I played.
...fable and Zelda? wtf made you come up with that comparison?
Clearly Zelda is much better but it depends on what one your talking about, if your talking about as a series then Zelda has been going for far longer and is clearly better with a series of roughly 15 different titles compared to Fable which only has 2. If your talking about titles then Ocarina of Time pretty much destroys Fable as a title.
If you played Fable 2 then you know why as a series Fable sucks...the only good one was the Fable 1, but as much as I like the game it still feels overrated by fans. The game is linear, short and well pretty much the game is like most hack n slash genres.
Zelda is more of an puzzle/action adventure genre.
The thing that you have to remember is that fable has advantage over Zelda because of the time scale zelda ( cant remember the date of first one ) ealry eightys on the nes was, and fable in early 2000. So they had more funds to add better features to the gameplay, and zelda was on a cartridge while fable was on a disc which holds alot more data. So fable has had time to devlope over time and the company has been able to look back at the older games for guidance.
But Zelda is the better game.
Zelda all the way, the Zelda series has memorable characters, great storylines and awesome gameplay, and although Fable is good, it just can't compare to Zelda in those aspects.
Fable was a complete and utter bore fest for me.
I'm going with Zelda
Is this a serious post? Fable can't compare to Zelda.
Is this a serious post? Fable can't compare to Zelda.
my reaction too!
Thing is although Fable presents itself to have all kinds of choices and things to do, Zelda games are way bigger. I prefer Zelda because they always have some different means of transportation, lots of mini games, the dungeons are not matched by any other game (especially Fable), and in general the controls are better. I find that dungeons in games these days are way too basic.
First of all like so many posters have said, you can't really compare the two since they are very different games. The first Fable game was interesting, it tried to bring dynamics to the genre that had been done before in other PC RPG's. However I really liked it and I did get Fable 2, I found the game to be too short and the ending just seemed to come outta no where. Can't say I ever had that unsatisfied feeling with Zelda, I always felt a huge feeling of satisfaction when i clocked the game. In my opinion MS ruined Fable 2, they took all the great genre defining mechanics out, and replaced them with family friendly dynamics and gameplay, that appealed more to the casual gamer demographic.Shame really as I think Fable 2 could really have contributed to the overall redefining of RPG's. Instead it's just another so so RPG, with hardly anything new. However I still think It's wrong to compare the two games, as they are completely different types of RPG
Legend of Zelda.
Larger and more epic stories.
umm yeah ZELDA FTW...some of the most epic dungeons ever created...so many great weapons and the master sword is just epic in itself...most memorable characters on a game to date (Link, Zelda, Ganon)...do I need to continue rambling???
